This book held me captivated by the uniquely dark story line. Their darkness calls to each others souls. Caelian is dark, brooding, cold, and calculating with a possessive 'touch her and you die' attitude. When you grow up in hell, you become forged with fire and infused raised by the monsters living there. She knows darkness lingers in her, but how can it not with fate working against her from a young age. I was hooked from the beginning, lured in by dark pasts, secrets, and a strong heroine. It is everything I want in a dark romance, and I enjoyed every second of it. This romance is dark, deranged, and our love interests are slightly unhinged. A slow burn, but undeniably hot.ĭon't let the beautiful cover fool you into thinking this romance is sweet. A dark but emotional romance about two lost souls finally finding each other. Recommended read - something very different. Realising something is not right when she fails to turn up at the inferno for her fight, Caelian and Rosko his dog decide to visit Ravens home.Ī cliffhanger that's left me a collection of emotions along with wondering how this situation is going to get fixed, i have a name going thru my head as a possibility but it's been written so well, it could be anyone. Luckily Caelian is there to help.until she goes home. The ending of this book feels like Raven has finally just reached her limit. The more she's out, and the longer she's out for the more and more sick the punishment they dole out to her. The problem here is that she has to lie to her Aunt and Uncle about where she is. But where Caelian has it controlled, raven's is wild and untamed, and getting worse by the day.Ĭaelian agrees to train her to not only fight, but learn to kill, to control her need to taste death and to know when the moment is right. But they recognise the same darkness in each other. So when they meet in the ring, it's clear who's going to win.īoth are confused by the way they feel about the other. Where Raven has been trained to fight by a trainer, Caelian is trained to kill. These two first cross paths in an underground fight ring called the Inferno. Both history and present.Īnd then there's Caelian. If you'd told me I'd have positive feelings for a killer in a book, I'm not sure I would have believed you! But there's no way you can read this and not feel for Raven and her story. A.R breck is a terrific storyteller! This was a superbly written tale unfolding slowly with so much emotion yet darkness running thru it!
